President Why you have joined the Mavericks: It is a group that allows me to be involved with the community on a charitable basis but at the same time affords me the opportunity to work closely with many of my peers. The activities that we focus on are all functions that I enjoy. Where else can a person have the camaraderie that we enjoy and not get arrested but rather see the accomplishment of a lot of beneficial goals. It is a real pleasure being a part of this group. Your thoughts/views on charitable causes: The two main functions of our group are the support of our charity groups and the involvement with the chuckwagon races at the Calgary Stampede. One blurs into the other and I find that it is hard to differentiate between the two as within our organization one needs the other to exist. Our charitable contributions need to continue to be focused on the groups that otherwise could slip through the proverbial cracks of society. This focus is a must and should always be done above and separate of any politics or religious views preferences or agendas. Who is an inspiration to you? Anyone who is willing to put the needs of others first on a consistent selfless manner. It is the standard that I failingly try to always adopt. How will you measure the success within the Mavericks this year? 1) Not only meeting but exceeding our charitable donations of last year by atleast 20%. 2) Successfully acquiring a tarp for the Calgary Stampede. 3) Having the best barn at the Stampede. Other Points of Interest: Family:Single father with 2 incredible kids who keep me sane and almost on the straight and narrow. A 16 year old daughter and a 14 year old son. Favourite Country Star: John Wayne Favourite Western Movie: 3:10 to Yuma Hobbies/Activities: Traveling, can never get enough traveling in.
